JOB PURPOSE:   

The Department of Mechanical Engineering and the School of Energy Resources at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a tenure-track position in nuclear engineering, broadly defined. Individuals with research interests in any relevant areas are encouraged to apply, including reactor/nuclear physics, advanced energy systems, reactor thermal hydraulics, advanced computational methods, or materials science relevant to nuclear applications. The position will be filled at the Assistant Professor level and candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent with postdoctoral experience highly desirable. The successful candidate will be expected to excel in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, establish a nationally-recognized research program with significant external funding support, and contribute to departmental and university-wide governance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Develop and oversee an externally-funded research program of significant relevance to nuclear engineering. Teach undergraduate and graduate coursework.

The Kevin T. Crofton Department of Aerospace and Ocean Engineering (AOE) at Virginia Tech invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Aerospace Optimization at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, depending on qualifications effective August 2026.  We seek exceptional candidates with expertise in the theory and application of optimization to aerospace systems. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to: Optimization under uncertainty and robust design methods, Real-time and embedded optimization for guidance, navigation, and control, Large-scale or distributed optimization for complex aerospace systems, Machine learning, reduced-order modeling, surrogate modeling, and data-driven approaches with applications to aerospace optimization, Multidisciplinary design optimization (MDO). Candidates will be expected to develop and sustain a strong, externally funded research program; teach undergraduate and graduate courses; and advise students at all levels.
