The expected starting date is August 15, 2026. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in aerospace engineering or a closely related field at the time of appointment. The successful candidate must have prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level, with preference given to those with expertise in compressible flows and propulsion. Applicants with industrial experience in aerospace engineering applications are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the aerospace and mechanical engineering curricula, develop an externally funded, independent research program, and collaborate with faculty across various academic units.

The Department of Chemical Engineering of the Francis College of Engineering (FCOE) at the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UMass Lowell) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track Assistant Teaching Professor in Nuclear Engineering, starting September 1, 2026. This position is part of the FCOE’s growing Nuclear Engineering Program.

The successful candidate will join the department and college faculty and will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, advising students majoring in nuclear engineering, contributing to curriculum development and student success initiatives, and participating in other service activities such as student recruiting and outreach events. Teaching faculty play a crucial role in promoting the department’s educational mission, engaging students in experiential learning, and fostering a diverse and inclusive academic community.
