At 1129 AM MST, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 12 miles southeast of Buckskin Mountain Park, or 14 miles southeast of Parker Dam, moving north at 10 mph. HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of north central La Paz County.

Significant 6.3 quake hits near Nabire, Nabire Regency, Central Papua, Indonesia

A shallow magnitude 6.3 earthquake was reported early morning near Nabire, Nabire Regency, Central Papua, Indonesia.
According to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), the quake hit on Friday, September 19th, 2025, at 3:19 am local time at a shallow depth of 10. km. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake which listed the quake at magnitude 6.3 as well.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should have been widely felt by almost everyone in the area of the epicenter. It might have caused light to moderate damage.
Moderate shaking probably occurred in Nabire (pop. 43,900) located 40 km from the epicenter.
