At 238 PM MDT, emergency management reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the South Fork Burn Scar. Between 0.25 and 0.75 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will impact Upper Canyon, Brady Canyon, and Perk Canyon as well as the Cedar Creek, Eagle Creek and Rio Ruidoso drainages. Impacts will include but are not limited to all nearby reservoirs, bridges, culverts and roadways. Impacts to areas along the Rio Ruidoso may extend downstream of Ruidoso Downs. HAZARD…Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include… Cheyenne, Pine Bluffs, Burns, Albin, Egbert, Laramie County Fairgrounds at Archer, Hillsdale, Pine Bluffs Municipal Airport, Gun Barrel, Panorama Point, Carpenter, and Ranchettes. This includes the following highways… Interstate 80 in Wyoming between mile markers 368 and 402. Interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 1 and 5.
