Instructional Faculty Position in Engineering
Dartmouth Engineering seeks to fill an instructional faculty position at the assistant or associate professor level. Instructional faculty positions are non-tenure-line, promotion and sabbatical eligible positions, with a renewable 3-year term, and the option of a rolling contract upon successful review after 6 years. Instructional faculty are expected to teach 4-5 courses each year, advise students, and take on service responsibilities. While conducting scholarship is encouraged, a research program is not required.
Applicants should have a doctorate in engineering or a related field and a demonstrated potential to teach a range of mechanical engineering courses. Example areas of interest include, but are not limited to, systems, solid mechanics, mechanical design, and sustainable design. Candidates will be excellent teachers who embrace Thayer’s interdisciplinary, collaborative, project-based approach to engineering education.
