Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – At 156 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. * WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring. * WHERE…A portion of northwest North Carolina, including the following counties, Alleghany NC, Ashe and Wilkes. * WHEN…Until 400 AM EDT. * IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – At 151 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicates light to occasionally moderate rain across the advisory area. However, between 3 and 3.5 inches of rain fell earlier this evening over a short period of time near Wilkesboro.
