Stromboli (Eolian Islands, Italy): Our group on the ongoing tour to Italy’s Volcanoes visited the volcano again on the evening of 10 Oct 2027, observing strombolian activity from the summit craters.
Eruptions occurred at roughly regular intervals of every 5-10 minutes. The summit activity continued from the Northwest and Northeast crater vents producing strombolian eruptions. Glowing lava bombs were thrown to the upper crater area, some of them turned into small rock fall avalanches tumbling down the Sciara del Fuoco flank.
Kanlaon (Central Philippines): An eruption was reported at Kanlaon at 07:47 UTC on 11 October 2026, with volcanic ash observed at flight level 100 extending northwest as of 07:50 UTC. Ash was not identifiable in satellite data at the time of the latest observation.
