ESFAFC The Skilak glacier dammed lake (GDL) is releasing based on observed stage increases downriver. Residents along the Kenai River downstream of Skilak Lake should be aware of rising water through Tuesday. The Kenai River below Skilak Lake is expected to reach action stage (12.46 ft above gage datum) Tuesday morning, but is not expected to move into flood stage. The Kenai River at Kenai Keys will now reach into action stage (10.09 ft) and crest Tuesday morning. The Kenai River at Soldotna will crest below action stage (10.29 ft) Tuesday afternoon. Flooding is not anticipated along the Kenai River at this time.

ESFSEW Additional rounds of moderate to heavy rainfall in the Olympic Mountains Tuesday and Wednesday will force steady rises on the Skokomish River in Mason County. A sharper rise in the river is expected Thursday and Friday with an additional 2 to 3 inches of rainfall over the basin, with flooding possible. Please monitor the latest river forecasts from the National Weather Service for additional information.

West winds gusting to 25 to 35 mph, low relative humidity and mild temperatures will result in elevated fire weather conditions Monday afternoon. Residents are urged to be careful with any activities that could potentially lead to a wildland fire. Campfires, outdoor grills, smoking materials, chain saws, and all-terrain vehicles all have the potential to throw a spark and ignite a wildfire.
